I often don’t want to pay $125 for jeans or any pricetag amount for that matter yet I don’t go to the fucking register and say ‘I really want these but I only have twenty bucks, will that work?’ No, I don’t say that because it won’t work, so why do you think it will work on me?”

So, if you didn’t know that Lebron James is going to be a free agent at the end of this season and the Knicks want to sign him, get out from underneath your rock. Knicks President Donnie Walsh has not been quiet about his desire to sign a top free agent in the summer of 2010. There are plenty. LeBron, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh will draw the most interest. Kobe Bryant is also a free agent but don’t expect him to go anywhere. he has already said he is staying so I would expect a deal to get done before this season is over. LeBron has kept his options open. He has said all of the right things at the right time, not ruling out a return to Cleveland yet not ruling out his departure. He will make a “business decision” with his team. he says he wants to go somewhere that he and his teammates are improving on the court each time they step on it. He wants to win. But does that mean he wants to rebuild? From the Knicks, we have seen that they can score but they have yet to learn how to win. LeBron needs to decide if he is ready for this type of challenge and project.
If the Knicks do not sign LeBron, they have much work to do. At the end of this season, they will have nine free agents and enough cap room to by a large country. In addition to the aforementioned, other upcoming premier free agents include: Manu Ginobili, Amare Stoudamire, Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady, Yao Ming, Shaquille O’Neil, Ben Wallace, Dirk Nowitzki, among a plethora of others.
One thing I am hoping is that we don’t here for the next 75 games about the possibility of LeBron coming to NYK. It has already grown tiring with this post.

On the road.
I could think of finer things to be doing on my Saturday morning, but still, driving gives me a flow of never ending thoughts. Thoughts that are not polluted by ones normal familiar surroundings. Of people, of sound, of intrigue. I just saw a bumper sticker that will now shape the way I think for the rest of the day. Last nights gig was pretty much a paid jam session. With a free feed and free beers. My body is rancid with cough syrup and sleeping pills, weed, and rattling bones. Clouds have never looked so inviting, but the sun is keeping a steady glow, and keeping the fire alive.
